According to a study supported by the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), over-the-counter and prescription painkillers are often used inappropriately and there is an alarming number of people who are ignorant to the potential side effects.

That’s why it’s very important to abide by the instructions written on your prescription.  Pain medications are generally prescribed by the specialists at The Franklin Pain and Wellness Center in combination with pain management therapy.  Pain medications alone are usually not the best treatment option.

Mistakes to Avoid when Applying for a Small Business Loan

Posted: May 31st, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Uncategorized | No Comments » Warren Kirshenbaum

Getting a loan from a bank is no easy task these days, particularly for small businesses. So, we asked those banks, which make it their business to lend to small business, how entrepreneurs can increase their chances of securing aloan dollars.

Here, they share the top four mistakes business owners make when applying for a loan, and how to avoid them.

Mistake #1: Underestimating the value of personal credit. Bankers look at your personal credit history to get a sense of your track record with financial responsibilities, says Michael Toth, Senior Vice President of Business Banking at KeyBank. “If a business owner hasn’t shown the diligence in managing their personal credit, there is potentially a stronger likelihood that they will take the same approach to their business credit,” he says.

Mistake #2: Applying for the wrong type of loan. One of the most notable pitfalls is small business owners using credit intended for a short period of time for a long-term purchase, or vice versa. “They will use the wrong type of credit product for the wrong type of purpose.” If you buy a piece of machinery with a loan that was intended to fill a short-term need like employee payroll, then you risk being saddled with a loan that you can’t get out from under.

Mistake #3: Expecting a loan without collateral or a plan to pay it back. A banker won’t approve a loan that he doesn’t think has a chance of getting paid back. So be sure to detail in your business plan how you are going to make the revenue to pay the loan back or any collateral you have to back it up. Also, be sure to explain why the loan is critical for your business. “Make sure there is a solid business plan as to what they are planning to do with their business and how the financing will support the mission for the company.”

Mistake #4: Waiting too long to approach a banker. Small business banking is about relationships. There's a much better chance bankers will lend you money when you need it, if they already know who you are and what your business is. Not only will you develop that face-to-face relationship, but you will also have the opportunity go get your business financials organized and in shape with a banker’s eye in mind.

Postcard Marketing – Does It Work?

Posted: May 31st, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Uncategorized | No Comments »

Yes! (That’s the simple answer.) The more complex answer — the more important answer — is HOW it works and what you need to do to make your direct postcard mailing campaigns successful.

How it Works

Successful marketing is all about regular contact. You already know “word-of-mouth” is the best marketing tool. Period. Mailing postcards helps to leverage that goldmine. By making regular contact with your clients and potential clients, your name – your brand – stays in the forefront of your soon-to-be client’s mind.

People talk about what they know, what they remember and what is in the forefront of their minds. Properly executed, creative postcard campaigns put you into their discussions.

Why Do You Want Postcards?

Postcard campaigns are:

  • Quick and Easy – Our online design studio and tools make it easy for you to design an effective postcard campaign in minutes and you can upload your mailing list (link to mailing service) and let our mailing service experts handle the rest. – for pennies. How’s that for simple?
  • Flexible – Design your customized, branded postcards with any content you like – for any segment of your mailing list. Create fast, easy, quality postcard campaigns that are adapted to ensure marketing success.
  • Cost Effective – Our postcards are one of the most inexpensive forms of professional advertisement available, and our quality is the best in the industry.

Seize Opportunity

Postcard mailings expand your brand. This form of regular contact will familiarize potential clients with who you are, what you do, and how you do it. It will remind former clients to call you for future needs. It encourages conversations about you – between the clients you know and their sphere of influence (the potential clients you want to know).

With a custom-crafted postcard campaign, you provide clients with the information they need — while providing incentives to encourage them to use your products and services. Yes, it really is that simple.

Improve Your Success

In future blogs, we will offer specific ways to develop postcard campaigns to meet your business goals and improve your market share. For now, remember that effective postcard campaigns (and effective marketing in general) requires that you answer the questions your ideal client asks, offer them valuable information they can actually use, and adopt a relaxed (never pushy) approach to helping them make their lives better.

People appreciate those who help them… and they tell their peers, family and friends about that type of service, resource and professional provider. Promote yourself as the answer to their needs by providing what they want through regular, helpful communication.

When it comes to an economical, effective way to reach your clients on a regular basis – postcard marketing delivers.
